The looks on the children's faces were so sweet, and they are all so beautiful I feel compelled to paint portraits of them all!
Here is a slideshow of those photos.
I thought I'd also include a paragraph from Maria's letter that I thought was very cute.
Humphrey's First Christmas
"My name is Maria Allewelt. I am involved with a school in Kenya teaching religious education. Earlier this year I taught in a primary school near Mombasa. I was reading the book "Humphrey’s First Christmas"to the children. It's a funny and really sweet book. The kids laughed and enjoyed the book tremendously. After finishing reading I asked the children what they could give to Jesus, “What do you love most? Think carefully”, I encouraged them.. “What is your most prized possession?” After a few moments one boy raised his hand and said, “My mother!” Everybody laughed, even he. What a precious answer. He really loves his mom it would cost him dearly to live without her. We talked about their hearts, we can give Jesus our hearts, ourselves, that is the most treasured thing we can give to him."
FYI These are links to Maria's sites.
