I just got a wonderful letter from Jill, and her first grade students! She told me that she read Humphrey's First Christmas to her first grade religion class at her church. Here's a quote from her letter: "They absolutely loved Humphrey! I have to tell you that in all the years I've been doing this, the kids never got into a character or story as much. It was wonderful to see my love for your books picked up by them."
This was so lovely to hear! Humphrey and I are beaming!
Below is a photo of the craft that they did for class and instructions on how they did it.
"Here are pictures of the camel craft we did. I used your coloring page for the camel and then we just added clothespins for legs, and yarn for a tale. Then I found a rug/blanket pattern and scaled it to fit Humphrey - they colored them in.
Some of the kids wanted extra blankets in case Humphrey lost his again."
"Take his legs off (ouch!), and he’ll look like he’s sitting down (as long as he has his blanket)."
