It is Heyer's accomplished art that justifies
yet another version of this classic. These impressively realistic acrylic
paintings by the illustrator of EXCALIBUR and ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL
are richly hued and filled with Victorian detail. Heyer effectively depicts
such scenes as the horrified Scrooge eating his thin gruel as the chain-dragging
ghost of Jacob Marley appears, and the transformed, ebullient Scrooge,
